:  Margaret Bourke-White (1904-1971)

Fotoreporter statunitense è nata a New York nel 1904. Messasi in luce attraverso una fotografia della diga in costruzione di Forte Peck viene contatta dal magazine Life. Nel 1936 inizia il rapporto professionale con la rivista. Viene inviata come fotografa durante la seconda guerra mondiale e lascia sconvolgenti testimonianze dei lager nazisti. Seguirà successivamente il cammino di Gahndi. Margaret Bourke-White pubblicherà vari libri fotografici tra cui quello autobiografico "Ritratto di me stessa" del 1963. Muore nel 1971. Le sue opere sono conservate nei maggiori musei del mondo. American photographer born in New York 1904.

 

She was discovered through a photograph of the dam in construction of Forte Peck and was contacted by Life magazine. In 1936, she began her professional relationship with the magazine and was assigned as photographer during the Second World War. She took some moving shots of the Nazi concentration camps and continued successfully with the path of Ghandi. Margaret Bourke-White published many books on photography, including her biography “Portrait of Myself” in 1963. She died in 1971. Her works are kept in the Great Museums of then world.
