:  Ansel Easton Adams (1902-1984)

nato a San Francisco nel 1902 sin da giovane Adams nutre numerosi interessi. Nel 1930 incontra il grande fotografo Paul Strand e ne rimane talmente affascinato che da quel momento si dedica esclusivamente alla fotografia. Adams non lo fa in modo tradizionale ma attraverso una continua sperimentazione che condivide con Edward Weston ed il GRUPPO F/64 che inventa la nuova tecnica di esposizione a "sistema zonale" al fine di ottenere un'immagine con otto scale di grigio dal bianco al nero assoluto. Il risultato è un immagine limpida e trasparente che si adatta in maniera superba ai temi di Ansel Adams. Il maestro muore nel 1984, l'American Board of Geographic Names gli dedica una delle vette dello Yosemite National Park ove Adams eseguì scatti di straordinaria bellezza. Fu grande amico del Maestro Stieglitz. 

Born in San Francisco in 1920. Since of an early age Adams had many interests. In 1930 he met the great photographer Paul Strand and after being left fascinated decided to dedicate all of his time exclusively to photography. Adams’s way was not the traditional one but through continued experimentation, which he divided with Edward Weston and the F/64 Group who invented the new exposure technique “regional system” to obtain eventually an image of 8 grey steps from black and white. The result was a transparent image, which adapted superbly to Adams’s themes. The maestro died in 1984 and the American Board of Geographic Names dedicated to him one of the peaks of the Yosemite National Park where Adams took some beautiful and extraordinary shots. He was a great friend of Stieglitz.
